EVE Online is a space based MMORPG and has been running since 2003. In 2017 the game still runs strong and has, on average 15000-20000 people online at all times.
EVE Online consists of more than 5000 star systems, as well as 2500 randomly accessible wormhole systems. All of the systems mention are based on a security status ranging from 1.0 to -1.0. All of the systems that are 1.0 to 0.5 are consider high security space (High Sec) where CONCORD are there to protect you and is the safest place in EVE. Next you have Low Sec where you can do pretty much anything you want however, some actions may result in you taking a security status hit which will eventually, in turn, affect your ability to enter High Sec. These systems are 0.4 to 0.1. Null Sec is any system ranging from 0.0 to -1.0 and is by far where most of the battles go on. All of these systems are run, and owned by in game Alliances which run various corporations. People live here due to being able to do what they want and having the best ways to make the in game currency known as ISK.
The game is renowned for its scale and complexity with regards to player interactions. Players engage in economic competition, warfare, and political schemes with other players. The Bloodbath of B-R5RB, a battle involving thousands of players in a single star system, took 21 hours and was recognized as one of the largest and most expensive battles in gaming history. The total cost if you change the in game currency to real money would be over $300,000.
EVE can be free to play by “PLEXing” your account. The way you do this is to make the in game currency and change that into a PLEX at a market hub and activating it for 30 days free game time.
